Heading for global expansion from Station F, one of the world's largest incubation facilities
Novelgen Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture; Representative Director: Atsushi Ogura) is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the "J-StarX Europe Long-term Program (France)," a startup overseas expansion support program operated by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), an incorporated administrative agency. Representative Director Atsushi Ogura will stay in Paris, France, for an extended period, aiming for full-scale entry into the European market.
■ Program Overview
This program uses Station F, one of the world's largest startup incubation facilities, based in Paris, France, as its base of activity, and supports the building of the mindset, knowledge, skills and network needed to expand into Europe. Through tailor-made support matched to each company's needs, it aims to expand sales channels in Europe and to raise funds from investors, CVCs and others.
■ Background and Purpose of the European Expansion
Novelgen Co., Ltd. has so far been working on the development and demonstration of innovative quality-improvement technologies for bivalves, including a short-term fattening system, and of algae culture technology for producing their feed, under Phase 3 of SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research), a national research and development program.
This system improves the quality and maintains the freshness of bivalves, including oysters, in a short period of time. While advancing demonstrations in Japan, we are also searching for partners so that we can offer Japanese freshly harvested quality oysters overseas as well.
During this trip, Representative Director Ogura will widely promote the short-term fattening system and other results of the SBIR Phase 3 project to seafood and food-related companies and investors in Europe, and will energetically advance discussions toward collaboration with local partners.
