VivaTech is one of Europe's largest innovation and startup conferences, held every year in Paris. Startups, large companies, investors and government officials from around the world gather there, and it attracts high global attention as a venue for discussion and collaboration on commercializing and implementing cutting-edge technologies in society.
■ Background and purpose of our European expansion
Until now, Bloomo has been working, under the SBIR Phase 3 project, a national research and development program, on the development and demonstration of innovative quality-improvement technologies for bivalves, including the "short-term fattening system," and of the algae cultivation technology that produces their feed. This system is a technology that improves the quality and maintains the freshness of bivalves, including oysters, in a short period of time. In addition to conducting demonstrations in Japan, we are developing collaboration partners with the aim of providing, overseas as well, high-quality oysters just after they have been landed in Japan.
On this trip, our CEO, Mr. Ogura, will widely promote the "short-term fattening system" and other results of the SBIR Phase 3 project to European seafood and food-related companies and investors, and will energetically advance discussions toward collaboration with local partners.
■ About the pitch
In this pitch session, [Climate Tech & Sustainable Infrastructure], Bloomo's short-term fattening system and algae cultivation technology will be introduced as technologies that contribute to responding to climate change and realizing sustainable fisheries. In Europe, where interest in carbon neutrality and sustainable food systems is growing, we will make a strong case for the potential of innovative aquaculture technology from Japan.
